This Ofqual-regulated Level 5 qualification is designed for experienced aesthetic practitioners who deliver, or intend to deliver, education and training within the aesthetics sector. It provides a structured, sector-specific pathway to Level 5 teaching competence, ideal for practitioners from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. No prior teaching qualifications or experience is required.

What you'll learn

This comprehensive qualification develops knowledge, skills and professional competence required to plan, deliver, assess and evaluate teaching and training programmes within the aesthetics sector.

How the qualification works - The programme is designed to take you from the foundations of effective education and training through to specialist teaching practice within aesthetics.

Build your teaching foundations - Develop your understanding of the teaching role, inclusive teaching and learning, assessment and feedback.

Learn how to teach aesthetics - Progress to specialist units exploring how to plan and deliver aesthetic education, teach theoretical knowledge and practical skills, assess competence and support safe, professional practice.

Put it into practice - Complete a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice in aesthetics, including observed teaching, allowing you to apply and develop your skills in a real teaching environment.

The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical teaching experience, ensuring trainers meet safety, quality and regulatory expectations in the aesthetics sector. You must have access to a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice in aesthetics. Your teaching hours can be carried out in a college, workplace, clinic or academy. 3 hours will be observed across a minimum of 3 sessions.

Assessment
Method

You will: 1. Plan and deliver a 15-minute microteaching session 2. Complete written assignments 3. Keep a written record of your 30 hours of teaching practice 4. Keep a reflective account of your teaching practice 5. Be observed teaching by your assessor for a minimum of 3 hours across 3 sessions You will build a portfolio of evidence and complete your Teaching Practice Observations (Minimum 3 observations totalling minimum 3 hours)

Requirements

You must: 1. be aged 21 and above 2. be a practising or recently practising aesthetic practitioner 3. hold a qualification in aesthetic practice or equivalent professional competence 4. hold current insurance 5. have access to a suitable teaching/training environment with a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice available 6. be proficient in English and maths (equivalent to GCSE Grade C/4 or above) No prior teaching experience required but established subject expertise in aesthetic practice is essential

Most EMD Beauty learners fund their programme of learning with an Advanced Learner Loan through the Government approved Student Loan Company via Student Finance England. (Subject to course eligability)

How we work out the cost

The price of this course is listed by HM Government (via the Education and Skills Funding Agency) on the Learning Aims Reference Service (LARS)

Advanced Learner Loan

This is the most common way for our learners to finance their study. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for your course. Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks. Your Advanced Learner Loan will cover all tuition fee costs.

Repaying your Advanced Learner Loan

You’ll only repay when your income is over £480 a week, £2,083 a month or £25,000 a year (before tax and other deductions). The amount you repay is tied to how much you earn.

Loan details

You don't pay anything up front. Student Finance England pay your fees directly to EMD UK CIC for you on a monthly basis.

Number of Loans

You are entitled to apply for up to 4 Advanced Learner Loans and you are able to have more than 1 loan at the same time.

Eligibility

To qualify for Advanced Learner Loan funding, you must:

Be aged 19 or over on the first day of your course
Hold the right to live and work in the UK if not a UK National
Have been living in the UK, British overseas territories, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for more than 3 years on the first day of your course

How to Apply

(1) Complete an Enquiry Form by clicking ‘Enrol Now’ on the course page of this website;
(2) Complete your individual application form through our secure, 2 Factor Authenticated system – this will be sent to the email address you provide in step 1;
(3) Complete your application for funding (if using an Advanced Learner Loan) – this will be sent to your email address also;
(4) Take part in a short interview/discussion with a member of EMD Beauty staff to check the course is suitable for you.

Your student loan will automatically begin to be paid to EMD Beauty after you have started attending the course.
